Mod My JVC SU-DH1

I was wondering if some of you guys could help me. I have a Victor/JVC SU-DH1 that I am using in conjuction with a dedicated headphone amp. The device has no line out, only a headphone out. I was wondering if anyone has modded this, or if you though it was even possible to do so. I don't know anything about the internal differences of a headphone out and line out.

All I know is a line out cuts the amp section and would reduce distortion. Maybe I should have out this into the buy/sell section, because if possible to do, I would need someone else to perform the mod.

If anyone has done anything like this I would love to hear about it. I obviously do not want to spend a fortune on my current setup or I would have just bought a Realiser A8.

Thanks

You could look under the D.I.Y. (Do It Yourself) Discussion's section, maybe someone has a solution there for You. Good Luck!  atsmile.gif

sorry to hijack this thread after a long period of time but where did you get your  JVC SU-DH1 portable surroundsound amplifier?

I live in the UK and have been trying to find one of these for a number of years with no success.

PS. I hope you solved your problem after this amount of time.

I bought mine at Bluetin.com. I just checked, and it does not look like they still have them. I also believe Audiocubes.com used to have them. They don't seem to currently have them listed either. I would maybe email them and ask.

I fixed my problem by selling the device and buying a Realiser. While using the SU-DH1, I just kept its volume at around 75% to avoid distortion. There is no way to bypass its internal amp.

thanks for your speedy reply, I'll let you know how I get on :-).

Yikes, that's a serious processor in the Realiser, and I thought my AKG 999 hero's at a grand was expensive but I bet your Realiser sounds sweet using DTS?
