Grado?

I was having this dispute with my friend. is Grado pronounced Gray-doh (like playdoh) or Grah-doh (like grotto)

I always say Grah-doh.....but never actually cared whether it was right.

I've pronounced it Gray doh based on the vowel/consonant/vowel order. Obviously that doesn't always hold true, especially if someone wants to change it up a bit.

the reason I ask, is that I was watching a video on headphones from B&H, and the sales guy pronounced it grah-doh. but then again, he did say that they were some of the comfiest phones over long periods of time he has ever worn tongue.gif

This topic does come up from time to time.

It should  be Gray-Doh because it is their family name and that is the way they pronounce it.

You can pronounce it any way you want- just bear in mind that "Gray-Doh" is how they say it in their families and Grado Labs.

Ring them up and you'll get your answer when you hear the greeting.

As a German, makes sense for you to pronounce it that way. That's also how they pronounced it on that show on USA last year.

 

But it is in fact Gray-do, as many have said.

I said "Grado" in spanish.  I thought the last name was italian(?)
