I Just Witnessed an Orpheus Setup Sell on Audiogon for !!!

I just watched a Sennheiser Orpheus sell on Audiogon for $32.5k that's a lot of money! It was gone in about 20 minutes this morning. Crazy.

Or they already have a nice car and want the best headphone rig available. Toys are made for every economic level, not just allowances.

It was removed right after the sale. It was two pair of headphones and one amp.

audiogon  does not remove items after a sale. i think maybe it may have been canceled. They list sales until the whole thing is done shipping and transaction as I have dealt with them for years. I have canceled my add and they cannot be found when you cancel. All sales stay on. Could be the seller canceled the add

Sure it's believable!  Perhaps it was the same setup as ~6 months ago?  An Orpheus rig with 2 headsets was definitely posted on the 'gon for somewhere around $35k, and iirc is did actually sell

Especially since the original HEV90 was known to not be the best of amps to start off with.  I was told the Aristaeus was based on the HEV90 but with much better parts used (and less gaudy styling wink_face.gif)

I think that he "canceled" the add right after it sold - so as not to have others message him about it. They do it all the time with certain items such as when Rawson first started to do his First Watt DIY work.
