Pretty new to all this, what exactly does a DSP do?

Im using the FiiO E7/E9 combo so the soundcard is bypassed, with HD595s (598s and sr225is on the way)
Using MediaMonkey as a player, which I highly recommend, best music player Ive ever used in my life, completely blows foobar out of the water

Digital Sound Processor(?)

Different ones do different things.  For example, look at all the effects you can add to Foobar, like EQ, PPHS resampler, etc.

Preferably you want all DSPs off for more accurate music.

Yeah, Ive been messing around in MediaMonkey for a few hours, Ive decided to leave them all off. Occasionaly I just turn the bass up if the song needs it. Thanks for the advice though
