Hi guys,
still cheking this thing!
As mentioned before: It does not reroute everything and everyone. If you go directly to the headphones page it does not catch that.
If you access from outside of the US or certain providers it does not catch that. If your PC is slower or on some Firefox versions it
delays the swap box and you can click on an entry on the page and go there without the reroute.
But then: Even when you want to go to www.sennheiser.de (Which of course is heavily used by US customers (LOL)) you
get rerouted to www.sennheiserusa.com.
As I still haven't figured out what they want to achieve here, other than restricting US customers from certain information, I have sent a question to them. We will see what they have to say.
Probably as rude as they treat some dealers who import the models themselves which they are not selling here in the US.

I can get to http://www.sennheiser.de/ just fine from the US.
Hi Aflac, would you mind telling me what provider you have? One of my friends tried various through his company and found that AT&T also seems to be blocked.
I have Hotwire.
I've got att and I'm not blocked.
the German headphone link is http://www.sennheiser.de/sennheiser/home_de.nsf/root/professional_aviation_headsets
It will not reroute
Just talked to someone in thier organization in Germany,
They were not even aware of it,
Great communication. When I asked why the German wesite www.sennheiser.de was blocked he had abasolutely no idea.
That is probably why they lose market share here in the US so much.

No, somehow I doubt the marketshare Sennheiser has lost (if this is even true) has anything to do with their website redirecting to the proper regional site...
Being redirected without even asking?
What new products have tey really brought to the market except HD800?
Have you recently looked at the stores, websites etc. what you find there?????
You work there????? Kind of defensive your statement!
I don't think Sennheiser's got anything to worry about.
Money quote:
I don't feel the need to follow Sennheiser obsessively to find out what new products they release. If they release a product in one region but not another, there's going to be a good reason for it, and I probably won't need to care about it. If Sennheiser ever releases something new worth hearing about, I will read it on this forum.
I do not work for Sennheiser, and I don't even like their products - I'm just beginning to think your thoughts are running a little to the irrational side. How could a company's decision to redirect people to the proper regional website for where they're coming from instead of the main "catch-all" site affect their sales? I would bet 80% of Sennheiser product owners have never been to the website, ever.
I was thinking about AKG, now those sure lost it completely.
You are definitely right about AKG. Have one of their very old mic's.That is art. Today its plastic.
But back to Aflac: Irrational?? Is it irrational if I want to get to a website on the open internet?
Is it irrational if I want to go to www.sennheiser.de, practise my German and read what is new there?
What is irrational is if a company does not allow me to do so just because I live in the US and use a certain provider.
It is irrational if such company seems to be so behind in their IT systems (or their providers) that if I have a slow computer
I can still get to the "forbidden" website, if I have a fast PC I must be a top gamer to be able to click on the right button
fast enough to bypass the forced reroute. It was always my idea that the internet means freedom of access to information.
How many of us raised their eyebrows when the Chinese cut off google? Is this different?
I beg your pardon?!?!?!
Calm down.
