I usually assume they or Stavros would have a particular tube somewhere in their collections!

Cary told me that the SLI-80 performs well with only 1 rectifier.

Which one was that David? Since I bought mine used it did not come with the factory tube.

It can run on 1 GZ34.

Interesting...That would look funny though. Would it matter which socket it was in or just drop it in and fire up the amp?

They didn't say.

That's what I was told.

Did they tell you how it would affect perfromance?

No.  I had blown a fuse and we were discussing power.  I told him what rectifiers I was using and he casually said that the amp could run off 1 GZ34.  That was all that was said.

Wouldn't a blown fuse take out 1 channel? I guess I don't understand electronics. (I love what they do!) With a dual mono amp I though each side was completely independent.

There are actually 3 fuses in the SLI-80, but, yes, you can take out 1 channel. But that was a separate issue from the rectifier discussion.

Anyone besides Toschek try the KT120's in their SLI-80? I see PSVane now makes them on top of the Tung Sol's.

She is using a screen printer at the start. I used to use those myself in art college. I wonder why they use it here?

That way they can silk screen the lettering on top of the amp after it gets painted with whatever color has been ordered. Simple stuff still works.
