Old Rotel Gear

Thread Starter

I posted this in another part of the forum, but I'll try again here in an effort to reach a possibly different audience:

All,

New to the forum, and I wouldn't really consider myself an audiophile, but would like suggestions and/or comments (no flaming please) on what speakers to get for a stack of Rotel components I bought several years ago:

RCD 975 CD player

RC 972 Pre amp

RB 991 Power amp

RLC 900 Line conditioner

I also am running Audioquest Indigo cable from the amp to the current speakers, which are Bose 901's (no flaming please).

So what would you guys suggest as a replacement for the 901's?  Looking to spend around $1000 (maybe more?).

B&W pair nicely with Rotel.  I previously used B&W CDM1SE and CDM9NT with Rotel 985 integrated.  You can easily find something used in the sub-$1000 range.  The CDM line are all pretty nice.  The only ones I would stay away from are the 600-series towers.  700-series are great but expensive.
