Sync'ing up audio and video - help...

So I have my 2-channel stereo system in the basement and I decide to add a TV.  I get a nice Samsung plasma and an Oppo BDP-93.  I hook the HDMI output up to my TV and the Oppo's stereo output to my stereo system.  When I watch a Blu-ray the video and audio are not sync'd up. 

 

Is there any easy solution to this?

My guess is that your TV is adding a delay to the visual output to give it time to do postprocessing on the signal. Try disabling extra processing options on your TV- dynamic contrast, smooth motion features (120/240/600Hz processing), etc. Give "gaming mode" a try if your TV has that feature.

 

I'll throw this out there for those with computer setups that stumble upon this thread: Media Player Classic Home Cinema lets you adjust the audio delay in 10ms increments using the +/- keys on the numpad.

Question one is if the audio is in sync on the Plasma when you listen to the audio from HDMI?

Thanks for the replies.  Yes, the audio is sync'd up when I listen through the TV using the HDMI signal.  I will try disabling the video processing features and see if it helps.  Thank you!
