New here.. Can someone help me identify these headphones?

Hey everyone,

Been lurking around for a few months now. Just wanted to start off by saying that I'm grateful for having discovered a forum with such a large variety of knowledge and information. For the most part, you guys all seem nice too!

Anyway I've been pestering my parents for letting me purchase some headphones, and  I'm actually planning to be picking up a pair of HFI 580's in the next month or so. In the meantime, I've been lucky enough to be born into a family where my dad is a major audiophile. It's a bit ironic that I've always looked at his hobby as wasting money, but now I guess I understand that there truly is a difference in the quality of music heard.

Long story short, while I'm waiting to buy my new headphones, he's given me a pair that he had back in the day. I'm more than happy with these headphones and very grateful that I'm even able to have some headphones to listen to. I've always listened to cheap earbuds and what not. These sound amazing. My only problem is that I can't ID them.

Even though I'll be replacing these in the next month or so, it's a bit embarassing that I stumbled across another audiophile and couldn't tell him what headphones I was wearing -__-" I'd rather that not happen again. Besides, I have a bit of an OCD problem where I need to know every little detail about anything I use. Sorry for the picture too, all I can really say is that they're Sennheisers. Lols.

Thanks for listening.

Look to be either HD 525 or 535.  This website is a good archive of older headphones, check out the pics of the Senns.

Is the Sennheiser brand and logo on the headphones printed in gold? If so, it's probably the HD 525.

@lbj - Kudos for finding such a useful site!

@Rosmadi There's no gold lettering that states which "number" the headphone follows under. But it's fine that website @lbj linked was very helpful. Some great shots on that website! I'm pretty sure it's the HD 525.

Thanks for the help!

Why not confirm it with you dad, or is he too intimidating?

He would love to confirm the headphones if he remembered what they were. And yes, he is quite intimidating. It's rather strange that father son time is now spent on him teaching me the definitions and the differences in the terminology of what something sounds like.. Feels good to be part of the crowd now. Never thought I would enjoy music in this manner!

Thanks!  I was looking for the impedance of an old headphone and came across that site.  It doesn't look like it's being updated anymore, but still a good resource.

Nice having a Sennheiser rep on the boards.
