DAC advice needed

I am setting up my first ever headphone rig and have absolutely no idea about a quality DAC.

 

My source is an Olive 6HD Music Server which apparently has an excellent DAC

My question is; is it an excellent DAC as is claimed

If not, could you suggest some.

Headphones are : Grado PS1000i, GS1000i, RS1i, LCD-2, HD800

Amp-in-waiting : WooWA22

Amps in consideration : RSA Apache, Apex Pinnacle, RWA Isabellina, Headroom BUDA

If it measures as well as they claim then it is utterly neutral, neither adding or taking away, it will fundamentally have no sound of its own, it will simply reproduce the input faithfully, I'd call that excellent, if their claimed measurements are accurate that is, but others maintain that they prefer a sound signature...

Oh, and I was thinking only amps have sound signatures. Thanks for that input.

It does sound neutral actually.

 

Maybe I should try another DAC with a specific sound signature.

Any suggestions are welcome.

My affinity is towards the warm Grado sound...
