Sennheiser HD 25-1 II Cable

I'm probably going to be buying some Sennheiser HD 25-1 II's pretty soon here. From all reports, sound is greatly improved by switching to a copper cable. Unfortunately, the only reasonably priced replacement cables (HD650 and 600) are both 10 feet long: far too much for portable use. I would like to shorten it, but have neither the equipment nor the know-how to do it myself.

What I'm looking for is someone who could shorten the cable for me, or direct me to someone/somewhere that can.

First of all, what means greatly improved?? There might be a change, when you switch from the steel cable to the copper one but not greatly. Secondly I would advice that you take a first listen to them and maybe you will have the chance to try a copper cable. Then you can decide wich one sounds better for you. Next thing is that the ends of the HD650/600 cable are of equal length which means that you will have to wrap one side around an earcup or sth similar or maybe turn both earcups by 180°.

I also have the HD-25 for right now two weeks or so and I will change the cable but not for a better sound. The reason are the microphonics I get with the steel cable when using the headphones outside and the cable is under the jacket. And I also have already shortened the 1.5m stock cable because it is too long IMO.

There are numerous threads around Head-fi which detail exactly what happens when you change the cable, so I'm not going to explain what I mean. I know I want to try changing the cable, for several reasons, and I'm not really asking whether or not I should change it. I'm really just looking for someone who can help me shorten a cable. Thanks though.

yeah i am sorry i may be overestimating  the cable sorry

now i was thinking about it and i do have a 1.3 (1.2) Ath-m50 coiled cable yet they fit on my pocket because i found a way for it to not bother me.

alright, i think i will do the same technique for the sennhies :D

yet i find it weird that this little thing needs a 1.5 meter cable!
