Helping with ideas ( Case design! Pics!)

Hello,

Im planning a headphone amplifier and as the electronic side is in the works, I recently changed my mind with the case.

Originally I planned some extruded aluminium / plastic faces / transparent light type.

Now as I ordered my AH-d5000 headphones I've got some urge to make something more cool and fancy. Something with wood.

I'm asking Your help and opinions too on the topic "The most beautiful (headphone) amplifiers You saw or own".

Please post pictures that may help anybody who planning a luxury case and making his ideas of the design.

Although I'm building a solid state amp, I have to tell I was impressed with the Yamamoto HA-02:

I can imagine an engraved brass plate on the place of the tubes and a volt meter below that something like this:

What  I don't like is the bottom part.

Please note I don't want to copy any of theese designs completly and only making one for my pleasure, not for business.

Lastly I have to tell I have no tools for something like this, I will ask a craftsman to make me woodwork.

So possibilities are out of question or I could say endless. :-)

Well, no one is dreaming about enclosures?

I do. I read that thread often. I just try to get some inspiration from the "all the time" best looking things. If someone seen one, post it here. Many DIYers make candy tin or other (eg. extruded) aluminium enclosures. I have seen a lot of them. And I want a different style.

For the cost I won't go crazy, some saw woodwork wont hurt but the ones I do not have tools for hard wood I will ask someone. I do not plan too many metal works with this.

I see this topic is not so popular, i do not mind though. Just wanted to ask your opinion.
