Customs on contestants on American Idol?

So, I wont even start on the ridiculous 'beats' product placement everwhere on this show (micophone, headphones, jimmy ivione or what ever his name is), but what is up with some contestants using only ONE custom IEM while performing? Why bother? Strange to me.....happy st paddy day everyone....

Well if you're talking about studio use and what not, one monitor will usually give the musician the rhythm and/or instrumentals.

no, they are using the full studio beats when they are shown in the studio (and they are really placing the monster product through out the show)

 

..its stage use that i noticed...no one else care here cares about this i guess, I mean I have seen a lot of live shows and never seen one monitor...and it wasn't just one contestant it was everyone who wore customs on stage...i think its werd...

Ultimate Ears offers a single monitor (UE 1) so it appears some people do only wear one custom ear piece, while performing.
