NEW information on JH-3a - Page 10

Anthony, you might want to see what's developing in the Jh13 thread about Craig's custom cables before you buy one. Caveat emptor.
 

Well I checked the main thread but it's so long -- and there was no recent mention of what was happening regarding Craig's cables.

So today's the day they started shipping to JHA, correct?  

no..they speculated that it would take 1 week for the amps to ship from china, and that they would ship on the 18th.

from there we can only speculate.. every time they release estimates they do it in a way that no one can really tell what they are trying to say.  they definitely do not excell at clarity in their update process.. so we are left to wonder - did they mean the amps would ship to us by today, or did they mean they would arrive to JH by today, and then go through the tuning process, and then ship at some unforseen date..

and since they also have a track record of not letting us know when new information comes, and seemingly only putting out updates when we start to ask for them,there is no telling when there will be a new update, and what it will be about.

"We received the 3A on Wednesday and I have finished testing the unit.

I am happy with the audio and I will be giving the go ahead Monday for
them to be assembled and shipped.

They should start shipping from China one week from Monday, April 18."

As they posted that Friday, April 15th, can we assume they didn't mean a week from the 11th (two days before receipt)? So it's not shipping Monday, the 18th, but shipping a week from Monday, the 18th... Monday, the 25th. Or am I missing something?

My point illustrated perfectly.. did they mean one week from monday - on april 18th, or did they mean one week from the 18th, which is the 25th?

it sure seems silly that they would say the latter when they just could have said the 25th, so i interpereted it as shipping from china on the 18th...

Br777, I'm not sure it's actually illustrating your point, except in you basically agreeing with yourself. Wouldn't it be more "silly" and arbitrary to start a one-week countdown two days before they received the 3A to test? Doesn't it make much more sense to be referencing the very next business day, and likely first chance shop in China would hear the news, April 18th, to start? JHA gets two days to test and China gets a week to manufacture? I think I'm confused of the alternative timeline and that's why I'm confused there's any confusion. What are you proposing? 

April 13: prototype arrives

April 13-15: testing

April 15: announcement of success

April 18: China receives news and starts building

April 25: first 3As ship to JHA

Rick you are dead on from my conversation with JH, just to clarify they first 3a's ship to JH from China then they send to us after testing and tuning.

As I previoulsy predicted it is a mid May launch should all go well

Ha!  Just a couple weeks short of the one year mark from taking out money.  Geeez time flies ;)

Not to belabor the point, but I think what Br777 says is wholly legitimate. All other frustrations aside, when JHA has actually given updates on progress, it has been done through such vague, noncommittal language that hasn't been clear even when it seems they were AIMING to be clear (like in the most recent example).

I don't like to make a big deal out of this stuff, but do not feel Br777 is being unfair here.

Well i guess it served them well to be really vague since they didn't know what the heck was going on from their end either.  To me it pretty much seems that they've been at the mercy of the dsp programers and amp manufacturers this whole time...

totally agree that the delay can be exasperating at times and having been on of the first in line it's tough but (fingers crossed) the wait should soon be over.

Personally I'm telling myself mid to late May so I don't keep checking the calendar

Seemed this clear to me.  The one word that I worry about in Jerry's update of April 15th is the "should" in there!   "They should start shipping....."  Let's hope.....
 

Oh yeah, to be fair to Br777 it's been frustrating as hell at times with JHA and their vague remarks, but to also be fair to JHA they've never said the loopy equivalent of "seven days from four days ago" which is what's being proposed... I think.
