Upgrade from HeadRoom Micro Amp/Dac stack

I can't speak for the Denon but when I had the HD650 I had the Headroom Micro Amp and when I went to the Gilmore Lite with the DPS it was a nice upgrade. I had the DacMagic with it and the combo with the Senn was excellent. Even without the DPS the Gilmore Lite is a terrific little amp. The GLite is relatively easy to find used on the Sales Forum and are priced nicely. Another option could be the M^3 amp. Although I've only heard it with the HD650 briefly, it sounded excellent.

I'm a fan of the DacMagic. Especially for it's price point. They can be easily found for about $350 preowned. I've ever heard the PS Audio DLIII, it's supposed to be another solid option. They run about $500 preowned.

As good as the Headroom is for what they are there is better for close to the money and the upgrades are well worth it. At least to me they were.

Upgrade your amp. The HA-160 does a nice job driving the 650's and Denons.

If you have the chance to demo it, do it! and you'll notice a big difference.
