Beats by Dr. Dre Headphones - Page 3

Ha! I did not realize that there is as much animosity here toward Dre as there is toward Bose!  As for the "not under my roof" angle, I would not be tolerant of crappy loudspeakers, but at least I can't hear the headphones when he uses them!

Gear mentioned in this thread:

Awesome!  That's right around the corner, actually!

Thanks a ton, I'll go there soon!

I actually enjoyed my Dr dre beats before..They I never put them on again once I got my other headphones. But they do have some pros. like comfort..and cool design.

But the sound is just average with bass all over the place.

It's so easy to get dirty.

Headband really fragile.

there's a thread here in which someone compared the bass on the Pro 900 against the XB1000 (and the same guy did a review comparing the XB700 and the XB1000). you might want to read those, if you're after bassy headphones.

edit: link of the comparision - http://www.head-fi.org/forum/thread/552034/final-thoughts-sony-mdr-xb1000-vs-ultrasone-pro-900-who-is-the-bass-king-pictures

Is there a particular spec I should be looking for to determine the level of bass?  I'm in LA and you'd think I could find a place to listen before I buy but that's not always feasible.  Any other legit headphones with over-the-top bass would be appreciated-- what are some good options that do have a built-in-amp?

I really hate these HPs. I gave them a new listen at the Navy Exchange and I almost threw up in my mouth. I managed to keep it down and compose myself, realizing I am not ridiculously stupid enough to buy these (doosh) cans and can happily enjoy my music with my Koss portapros and Senns. I mean they had about 400 of these crap stains for sale on the floor there. I thought I was dreaming, but in this world of generation (why?) people running around, I was not surprised at all. Monster Cable has lost me as a customer because of this. I will never buy anything they make again. I mean it. Time to boycott this junk.
