..when you split your (meager) paycheck into "headphones" and "living" money.

when you have to convince yourself not to spend all of your tax refund on audio gear and headphones.

when you stop everything you do, even exams and get late to a promotion, to rip all of your cd's to flacs for your portable rig...

You know you're an audiophile when you have nightmares about receiving the wrong headphone and it literally terrifies you! (3 days in a row now!)

When you have done all of the mentioned in the previous 96 posts

LOL. Funny thing, the night before my custom IEM's were going to arrive, I had a nightmare where my customs came, but when they came and I opened the box, they were just universals. Scared the bejeebus out of me. haha.

The nightmare here too, befor i got my sennheiser ie8.... i had nightmares about them being a fake.....

Calling headphones, "audio gear/head gear".

When you're never satisfied with your headphones.

Whenever you hear your favorite audio brand or a well known audiophile brand, you try to find out if the person is also an audiophile.
