My opinions
Sound
The sound produced by the HD558 is rich, a bit light, and isn't bloated with bass which is a good thing. It has a crisp treble and punchy bass, very great...

Along with the summary below, I have posted a Youtube video review of the K550. If you like the video, check out my channel for more reviews :)
Summary
BUILD
The AKG K550...
A progressive and an uplifting Vocaloid trance piece respectively from a producer who goes by the name raku. Both are available for free on his SoundCloud.
It's a neat video, and well done song, but the chip tune video game dubstep has been done so many times it's not really anything new. I mean, Tetris by Doctor P was a huge track in 2011, but it god real old real quick, and I suspect the same for this one.
Also not a fan of Xilent's dubstep. His neuro funk though, sheesh. I liken him to a new-age Spor, set the bar for Neuro funk (you can tell by how much of Ammunition Records kind of evolved around his sound) but he went from boundary pushing neuro into dubstep much quicker than Spor did. I was super stoked to see him back in I think September, but was disappointed by the end of his set which was all jump up dubstep; brostep, if you will.
In other news, tons of sick dark techy neuro just dropped today. Audio in the remix on this one
A friend of mine showed me these guys... WOAH...
And anything else I've just bought hasn't been on youtube, so meh. Too bad, lots of nice rollers to show you guys.
I just bought so many tunes in prep for my new mix. It'll be full of fresh tunes, mostly from 2013, but a few from late last year, and definitely gonna throw in some bangers that people know and love. last few mixes I've made have been nigh rehearsed so they're kinda choppy and could be better, which this new mix will hopefully solve. I'm excited to show you guys. It's also in prep/promo for my next gig coming up March 19th.
I really want to love this. But damn hype MC is ruining it for me hardcore. God sometimes I wish they would just sit down and take like 60mins or so. lol

Gusto is MUCH better than say... Skibba, or MC Det, or Dynamite. While Skibba is a master lyricist, he gets rather.... worked up (if you know what I mean), and just doesn't shut up for the entire set. Dynamite MC is the worst. he just spouts lyrics that aren't even his, and imitates songs like Mr. Happy as the DJ drops a different tracks. It's really annoying. I've seen and heard him enough to hate him a lot.
I have a love/hate relationship with MCs. As a DJ, I understand how an MC can be vital to a set, but if the MC is talking more than rapping, it ruins the music a bit. Something I don't think many people get, is an MC is pretty vital when it comes to quick mixing like what DLR is doing, it adds another layer of sound to 'distract' from sloppy mixing. I remember at WEMF, I was paying pretty close attention to Bad Company's set, it was a masterpiece of drum and bass DJing, and the MC (can't remember who) knew exactly when to pipe in (which was not often; he would let a track drop, let the crowd dance for 8 bars or so, and THEN hype up Bad Company for the sick drop), and it was only when the mix that was coming in was out of sync just by a hair, would he come in with some sick rhymes to cover up whatever sound clash was going on.
The only time I really wish a 'hype type' MC would shut up is when the DJ is doing some intense mixing when the mid range is being mixed proper, and/or when the tracks being played have vocals in it. Very rarely do I hear an MC live let the tracks with vocals speak for themselves - The DJ would never do a vocal clash, so you're just ruining what the DJ is trying to achieve buddy.
skream is a master. i call him "father dubstep" =]
which albums do you have? i imagine ill want some more by solar fields pretty soon.
The sound profile is what threw me off. I know "mind blown" is used to way too much to the point it lost meaning but that is what happened when I heard that song with the DT990s.
Been awhile on Solar Fields so I'm not sure how my tastes have changed (if they have) but I remember Blue Moon Station and Earthshine being good stuff. My tastes have changed quite a bit and its been sometime since I've listened to Solar Fields (that's why I was glad you brought them back up) so I'm not sure I feel extremely confident recommending stuff. If it was free, different story but look into those two if you are interested.

I may be the only one thinking this but I think a picture of Elmer Fudd would be more appropriate for this song. I refuse to say why though.

Agree, Gusto ruined it for me. I kept thinking, "less yap, shut ur trap ...and how did they find the only jamaican that can't rap? WTF"
I do like DLR though so I kept trying. I got about halfway and had to call it.
