MorbidToaster, I was a bit disappointed on the Lorn LP jacket. Why so tiny picture? It's beautiful *******it! I expected a gatefold jacket with massive artredface.gif The big boys said it had won some awards on the artwork but this is quite not what i thought!

This is the second vinyl that actually, to me, sounds radically different from the digital version. The other one is Justice's latest, which sounds very electronic as a file but has more of a rock feel on wax.

I thought the LP sounded much better than the digital release. Much more weight to the sound. Lorn obviously cares about the analog format. He released a ******* Reel to Reel tape for this album as well.

Just finished up Window Licker (Aphex Twin) on vinyl and dropped the needle on Nova (Burial & Four Tet). I found some amazing stuff (like these 2) last time I hit up the record store.

I want to frame the Windowlicker art but the wife(ish) isn't keen on it...

1000

Wouldn't mind framing Richard D James or I Care Because You Do either...but she doesn't like those either.

EDIT: I was expecting it as I also bought the Weigh Me Down single and it was the same way. I kind of wish it was bigger, but the white border make it look elegant as hell in a black LP frame, too.

It's been a while since I've been here. I have A LOT of songs that I think you guys will love.

To start off:

Hard Dance

Next:

Dubstep (Vocal)

Lastly:

Dubstep (I know it's weird right? It sounds nothing like Dubstep, but it is, lol)

I'll have a LOT more in the next few weeks. :)

BTW, these songs are on my playlist. I picked them because they stood out to me in a very unique way.

I'd buy the album. Easily my favorite Deadmau5 song, and to hear it with actual dynamic range is soooo good.

Great post with Strobe, thoroughly enjoyed that.

^GUYS! It's my mix. It's definitely not perfect, but I did it real quick NYE before heading out, just a few of my favourite tracks from the year.

I plan on redoing it, it was entirely spontaneous and I've never mixed these songs together before so I'm not so confident with the transitions, but whatever, let me know what you guys think, I'm open to harsh criticism, otherwise I'll think I'm da bomb sauce next Andy C

Nothing crazy but everything is mixed nicely (although everything in key would be cool, although never necessary) with excellent tune choices, definitely a good start.

Here's a Smooth Dubstep mix by someone I know that I enjoyed quite a lot:

You did a lot of the same things I did (especially on transitions) with my first mix.   I recommend playing it over and over and over so you find out what you like and what you would like to improve.  I personally like songs that sound completely different when mixed together so when I'm working/playing I'm following along without paying attention ...otherwise I end up tuning out the music altogether.  Though that is my own personal thing, otherwise I think your attempt was better than mine.  I'm also a fan of that Break Remix of Octane and DLR.

That Break remix has to be the best song of the year. I'm still trying to find one that *does it* for me like that one.

This isn't my first recorded mix, but my first one since putting a few hours of practice into it. Trust me, this sounds WORLDS better than my previous attempts, so much so that I actually named it appropriately and not some fake DJ name on dnb share.

I've been listening to it over and over, and I'm definitely going to re do it. Probably soon, re-upload it and such. I too like those mixes that sound nothing alike, but this was pretty spontaneous, so I didn't really put too much thought into it lol, but I could definitely do some rearranging. The first drop could have been much better executed, with switches and to my ears I think I would have preferred having Chaingang's bass at 12, and Drum Circle's bass at 9, not the other way around.

Thanks for the critques guys.

EDIT: Next mix I upload will be a full hour long mix. I don't feel like redoing this one lol.
