Electronic Music Exchange (House, DnB, Dubstep, etc.) - Page 183

Finally digging true Dubstep.

Magnetic Man - Getting Nowhere (feat. John Legend)

Magnetic Man - Crossover (feat. Katy B)

Skream - Where You Should Be

I never knew that dubstep can sound this good and this melodic. Now I know where to look.

And also, some have surprisingly good dynamics.

Not sure if this has been mentioned before, but if you have not listened to Timestretch by Bass Nectar, you are wrong!

?  Wrong about what. . .

Anyways,  Toaster, Whats the verdict on the new Netsky album?  Should I invest?

If anyone's looking for free music, I put together an EP of my original works on bandcamp (see my signature for the link). All the recordings were done in 24bit/96khz wav, and you can download full quality flac copies. To download the album, just click the 'buy now' link and enter 0 into the 'name your price' box. Of course, I will happily take donations, but I don't expect them. I'm just happy that people are listening to my music :)

A couple of the tracks are more old-school/original dubstep. The rest are house/progressive/trance-ish.

Just putting it out there that Timestretch is not his best song...

Also, of course it's worth investing it. It's a Netsky album. :D He actually spans quite a few genres on this one and does a great job keeping 'his' sound throughout. I'd be surprised if everyone didn't at least find a few things they liked.

So hype to actually get my signed copies. Pissed I missed the signed Logistics stuff.

I'll give it a listen tonight. I liked the first track you linked to awhile back.

EDIT: Is FLAC the only 24/96 files? If so I'll get them and convert to ALAC 24/96 rather than the ALAC download which seems to be 16/44.1

Thanks, man! I appreciate it. Let me know what you think about the other tracks.

I believe you're right. Bandcamp does all of the transcoding, and FLAC is the only 24bit/96khz copy. I downloaded an ALAC format track to look at the specifications, and it's 16bit/48khz. I think their reason for cutting the sample rate down to 48khz is because it's the best iPods and iPhones can play. However, I'm not sure why they would degrade the sample size from 24bit to 16bit. I have 24bit tracks on my 5th gen iPod video, so I know it's supported.

Haha sorry, I was trying to say that you are in the wrong for never having heard it!  If that is not his best then I need to listen to more of his work...

My favorite is his 'Lights' remix. That song wows me every single time I hear it. Of his original stuff I think Blast Off is my favorite, but he's got some other good stuff.

He's pretty hit or miss for me though overall.

Back for a few days before I head out again.

I have to say, 2 is sounding great so far, Netsky is really damn unique. L Plus also deserves props for his EP too, good stuff there.

Edit:

Wow, this album spans a hell of a lot of styles, impressive stuff.

I was really surprised when I was listening to samples for the first time, too.

I was a little disappointed but excited at the same time. Gotta say that's one thing I like about Logistics. He does Liquid DnB and that's what you can count on from him.

Stupid complaint, I know.

Well I just finished it, great. Listening to his debut again for fun now :)

Favorite track is still Porcelain. Amazing song...From the first album anyway.

My favorite Netsky track is actually Smile...followed closely by the other track from that release Eyes Closed.

Seriously, that release practically changed my life.

I'm not sure what my favorite of hi i yet, but he is definitely my second favorite producer (sorry bro, C&K take the cake).

I remember when my friend told me he liked Iron Heart but said the "Rest was just Euro-pop." I was in shock.

Punch him in the face.

Also, I can kind of agree with that. Netsky is actually probably third as far as DnB goes. Logistics, C&K, Netsky. Well...Hospital DnB because technically Spor and Noisia are DnB as well.

Iron Heart is okay, but (IMO) not one of the stronger tracks on the album.
