Whats the 56K! warning on the titles of some threads on the forums?

for example:    http://www.head-fi.org/forum/thread/409252/fake-ath-esw-9-56k-warning

Thanks :)

It's somewhat outdated since it's aimed at people with dial-up connection i.e. slow internet. Those threads tend to include a lot of large pictures.

It indicates there are big pictures or a lot of them. Back when a 56K modem was the fastest option. Now days more people have DSL or cable modems so it isn't such an issue.

Unfortunately there are those even today who still use dial-up, or 56K modems. The limited bandwidth, because 56K modems use telephone lines, means that large images take an eternity to load.
