Headphones Extension Cable degrades the sound?

I am seeking a 1/4 male to 1/8 female headphones extension cable, but I can't find one that is high quality besides Radio Shack.  Any recommendations?  If I buy the Radio Shack one, will it degrade the sound coming from my expensive headphones?

Maybe, but hopefully not.

Try it.

Maybe, who knows, but if it's too long, or maybe has a huge difference in resistance/capacitance???

Just buy a good quality 1/4 to 1/4 and add an adapter.

Well, I bought the Radio Shack cable. I'm pretty happy with the build quality. I don't hear any sound difference on my Sony MDR-XB1000. Each connector on the cable is really tight and the cable is ticker than the one on the XB1000. I'm happy for $9.99.
