For Sale:
$OLD Grado SR225i Cocobolo J$ lambskin woodies with discrete SS amp and Hot Audio DAC, REDUCED

Will Ship To: Paypal-confirmed address

Up for sale is a very nice-sounding complete system for computer-based audio, going for less than the price of the headphones alone. The Grado SR225i "Cocobolo Woodies" have a full 2" deep Cocobolo wooden sound chamber for better resonance and timbre, and very nice custom metal grills. They also come with a JMoney V3 lambskin headband, red and black rod tips, an extra set of bowl pads, and a set of yellow 414 flat pads.

Along with the Grados, I am including a solid-state headphone amplifier, and a Hot Audio DAC WOW, along with all the cables you will need to get listening: USB, RCA, and power. The headphones are as pictured, they are perfectly functional and sound great.

These Grados match up very well with this headphone amp, which is a G&W TW-J1 designed by Wu Gang at Tsinghua University in China. This solid-state headphone amplifier is an all-discrete design that sounds very nice with the low-impedance headphones I tried with it from Grado, AT, and Ultrasone, not so great with the higher-impedance Sennheisers.

There have been various iterations of this amp over the years, but this was evidently one of the better ones. It is solid in construction, in good condition, and functions perfectly with the RCA pre-outs disconnected. Please note that the volume setting in the photos is way too high for listening; it would be more like 9-10am, rather that the 2pm pictured.

The DAC STRAIGHT is from Hot Audio, it is a very clean-sounding USB implementation of the PCM2702E by Texas Instruments. This is a very nice sounding system, synergy is guaranteed! Whoever buys it will be very pleased with the sound, I just have too many systems laying around unused to give this the listening time it deserves.

Seriously, if you don't agree that this system sounds great, send the package back in the same condition within a week of receipt for a full refund, all you are risking are one-way shipping costs. This combo would cost upwards of $600 separately, but it can be yours for the reduced price of $OLD plus shipping and Paypal fees.

Would you be ready to sell the headphones without the amp?
