What's the Deal With Beats By Dre? - Page 3

I do not hate Monster, well, one of my first headphone is Monster, so they introduce me to Headphones.

The fact that I buy them for half the price of MSRP and they are still earning a lot means nothing to us consumers, we only care about the look

and I have to say, except my ATHs, Moster is so far the best looking headphones I got

yet, what Monster is trying to sell: look, fashion, MASS BASS

can be easily achieved with simple tuning. As of the look, Modding close headphone is easy

As of fashion, tell them this is a prototype, I bet anyone who tried this out can get away with it few times before someone actually put a doubt on it.

and even that, a simple EQ tune can give you very similar result of many Monster products, with the right headphone to work with

Not even my IE8 can achieve the level of bass , with full EQ dedicate to bass and max out bass response, compare to MMDT

yet, most people will appreciate being able to hear all instruments in a band performance rather than vocal and booming sound

So friggin' what? Do you seriously expect them to slap a huge sticker on the front and say "We're for people who don't give a 'darn' about audio quality?" They're not going to.

And also, do you think the phrase "A fool and his money are soon parted" was invented for these headphones? I assure you, it wasn't. 

Seriously, just leave them be. They're totally inconsequential.

Wow... I seem to have offended you for no apparent reason... It is possible to advertise headphones for other than studio use and have them be high quality. I never said they were bad audio quality (though I do think that), but I did say they were not studio quality, which is entirely true, and they shouldn't be advertised as thus, but that is just my opinion. There were plenty of choices in advertising, but they chose to mislead consumers, and I think that is poor business practice. It is nothing against the headphones, but rather the company. Monster could very well have dropped the price a bit, advertised them as a street style headphone (which it really is) and left it at that without doing the whole "studio" thing. It was a marketing choice that I don't agree with.

I don't understand what you were implying by your second question... I think you are trolling with that one, but that is simply my interpretation.

The headphones are inconsequential, but that is not where my qualms with that statement were, it was with the company in their projected image and advertisements for these headphones.

serious audiophile cares about sound.

therefore beats is hated lol

Allow me to repeat that... I went into a Best Buy, and passed by a CASE with the Lady Gaga Beats in ears, where they were BROKEN! No one could have touched them to break them. They somehow broke inside the case.

Please somebody explain that to me. Really, I don't get it. I see people everywhere now wearing their Beats like that when they are not in use, and I can't even fathom why.

I'm not really an IEM guy, but off the top of my head, the Fischer Eterna and Phonak Audeo Perfect Bass are good IEMs with bass.

The good thing about Beats studio in New Zealand in the price, at $650 NZD they are more expensive than the HD25 II $600. This means I can usually persaude my friends to buy the HD25's. I tell them to look at real DJ's like the guys that were at the Dom Perignon party. HD25's are where its at with DJ headphones. Just for an experience I have purchased a set of Studio's to actually have a good listen to them and compare them to my other headphones (I also my try and mod them), I'm just waiting for the to arrive from apple.

$199.99 Best Buy/Future Shop Price + 5% GST = $209.99 I guess
