iPod Touch 1G; Direct Line-Out?

I was wondering if this applied to the iPod Touch 1G when using a DIY LOD.

iPodTouch 1G is the worst sounding iPod I've owned. Even through a LOD. The treble is very grainy & harsh sounding & the bottom end rolls off way early.
