Custom HD 25-1 II headband

Hey guys,

 

I have a pair of HD 25-1 II, and while I love their sound the only thing I don't really like is the headband. I was wondering if anyone has ever tried using a different headband on them. I am looking for something simple, like the HD 25 SP headband or the Grado SR60 headband.

 

I was thinking about getting a replacement headband for the SP's. How well would the cups on the 25-1 II fit onto this headband? I'm not afraid to do some modifying to get it to fit together. I figured I could cut a thin groove in the foam on the SP headband and run the cord underneath.

 

Also, I am looking at upgrading my cellphone and was thinking about getting an Iphone. Anyone have any experience with these as a portable music player? Would an amp help run these at all?

The SP and -1 headbands are completely interchangeable.

Snap off, snap on.
