DIY'ers can you help identify this component

Ok so im hoping that someone out there can tell me what type of capacitor this is. Now i know this definately a capacitor not a resistor but i am not sure whether they are film, poly or some other type. They are very tiny approx 3mm x 2mm x 1mm thick  and are leaded.

I would like to source these as an alternative to surface mount ceramic caps.

Any help would be much appreciated and any ideas of where to get them would be sweet.

A better picture would help (much closer with much more light and multiple angles).

Any markings on it? Have you measured the value or do you know the value? Do you have a multimeter that can measure it if you do not know the value?

Thanks for quick response, the value of that particular one is 0.1uf, the other values I have do have colour dots to show value but no manufacturer stamp. I will try to get a better close up pic but it won't show more as it is just a very tiny black rectangle with 1 or 2 colour dots. Everyone I have shown it to seems to know it is a cap but no idea what type or where to get them.

Thanks for trying to help. Close ups to follow

I ordered a 3900pF cap from Mouser for my σ11, but that cap wasn't a stacked film type. It was a polyester film cap, and mines does look a bit similar to yours. Is your cap green or black?

It is black and they all have two dots one on the long top bit as such and one on the end like where the leads come out. I actually havnt checked mouse maybe I could contact their tech support if they have one.

Wow it looks like it's a rectangle/box shape?

Not round?

How strange. No idea what that is.
