@qusp, i guess i said E3 man.at this stage i can fit a CMoy into an E3, rechargable batteries included (But CMoy isnt HiFi, not even with the best caps and resistances), so i guess am not asking for much. i do know there is a search button, and i know how to use it, can u please do the searching for me and find something that i specified in my post? its all named below:
i)Size Comparable to iBasso T3 or FiiO E3 (Which i think is not E5 or E1, seriously please read the posts atleast)
ii) is HiFi (here i was inviting ideas, not just pre-built designs)
iii) can be rechargable.
also, the datasheets give enough idea of the operating voltage, and have u seen those small mp3 player chinese batteries? they are smaller then the T3 battery in size, and 300mAH i remember. please read and then reply.
@nikongod? is it hifi? coz it is way too WICKED.hehe
well maybe just search for 'mini 3 portable amp'. the amp has been based here for many years, there is hundreds of posts on the subject. was on the first page earlier today when you made your threads, but here is a build log with quite a few impressions on page 2 now in this forum and is probably the best illustrated log aside from the amb pages themselves. i think you have misconstrued or at least have a VERY different definition of what hifi means, which is what is causing confusion here. i have indeed seen the t3 and despite being a small amp that sounds decent with iems some would say, it is not by any stretch of the imagination 'hifi'
the +/-3.8vdc you will get fro a '9v battery', which is actually 8.4v minus the voltage drop over the power supply) at the most, limits your choice of opamp to chips that are specifically built for such voltages and none of the meet my definition, can they sound decent, sure, are they hifi? no. some would say that there is no such thing as a portable hifi amp at all, with any power supply and at any size, i disagree, but mentioning E1/E5/Cmoy etc and then hifi in the same breath?? .....
the unit Nikongod has there is a neat little idea, very cool indeed and cheap to try out, but all its going to do is allow your dap to drive your iems without struggling as much with the low impedance, so if you dont think your player sounds hifi with higher impedance headphones (not silly high), then you will not like this device either (dunno what to call it, impedance buffer, step up transformer buffer??) easy to try though.
not trying to discourage you, just trying to help you to have realistic goals here. you will be able to make a nice sounding amp, whether you actually need the amp does not matter as you will have built it, but if you have visions of making a hifi amp with these limitations, you will be disappointed. as none of the chips that i would recoend for higfh quality portable audio will be happy with these voltages without some sort of charge pump/dc to dc convertor, but these are not often mentioned along with hifi either and you dont have heaps of current to give up for the higher voltage, the t3 uses a lipo battery, these require charge management circuits and logic so they dont explode
