MacBook Pro and Iqube V2

I have a problem hooking my IQube up to my MacBook Pro. When I connect the IQube to either a PC or an IMac, I simply select the IQube from audio output selection and away I go. With the MacBook, I connect the IQube to the USB port (like with the other computers) and I go to the System Preferences. I then select Sound and then the Output tab. The only selection is internal speakers. There is no alternative for DAC or other output. It is like the MacBook doesn't even recognize that there is a DAC connected.

I have spoken with both Drew at Moon and Hans at IQube and they don't have any suggestions that I have not tried.

Is there something I am missing? Does the MacBook require the IQube be connected some other way than simply the USB port. Any help will be much appreciated.

Try posting your question in this thread as well.  There's no Iqube V2 appreciation thread, it seems, and that one has the most replies of the V2 threads.

Thanks. I saw that thread when researching the problem, but I see the problem with the MacBook because the Iqube works just fine with the IMac and a pc. I'm hoping that I'm simply missing a switch setting.

hey i just wanna say that before connecting the iqube v2 to your mac, make sure that the iqube is turned on. in that way, mac will be able to detect it.

if you connect to mac while iqbe is being turned off and then turned on once its connected, mac may missed it.

Thanks. I found out the same thing. While the IMac can recognize the IQube on hot hook ups, teh MacBook doesn't. I found out that if I attach and turn on the IQube to the MacBook before turning on the MacBook, it does recognize teh IQube and permits me to make the selection. Thanks again.

you need not have the macbook turned off to connect the iqube to it. i always connect mine when my macbook is on.

in any case, hope that you enjoy your iqube! =)
