I like The Jam, but I LOVE The Style Council. Weller was equally at home with both genres.

I don't think I've ever met someone who likes The Jam and The Style Council equally! Anyhoo... my fave:

Just listen to Bruce's bassline, Rick's manic drumming, and Paul's passion... friggin' brilliant!

They were overall quite different in style - although Jam songs like Bitterest Pill and Beat Surrender are the links to the Style Council stuff. I think I'm more Style Council, Long Hot Summer and Big Boss Groove being my faves.....

Long Hot Summer - great tune!

I wouldn't say I like The Jam and Stycle Council equally.  I marginally prefer Style Council.  But I do like The Jam a lot.  Private Hell, Thick as Thieves, Eton Rifles...great stuff.

Slice him up any way you want to, but it's all rock & roll, which is what Paul's been trying to tell us since the beginning. "If we ain't getting through to you…you obviously ain't listening!"

My favorite Paul Weller album: Wild Wood.

My favorite Paul Weller song:  "Brand New Start".
