I just snagged a 30GB iPod Video 5.5G in great shape save for the obligatory "left channel only" headphone jack which will be replaced in the next few days. I'm considering getting the iFlash MK II and a 32GB CompactFlash card off Newegg but I wanted to ask - for those that might have the same setup or a 60GB/80GB/etc using the 5.5G (or the 5G, I guess) - about the battery life expectations.

The battery in this 5.5G is the original and I'll most likely replace that as well soon; I charged it fully yesterday and then put Rockbox on it and did a battery bench and was somewhat disappointed at the  ~5 hours of playback then pffhhttt... dead. So definitely going to replace the battery...

I know I can't expect it to double by using the CF card mod but, obviously there should be some improvement, I just don't know how much I should hope for. I did contact the guy that makes/sells the iFlash MK II but there haven't been any posts on his blog since last June (2010) and I don't know if he'll respond at all, so this whole idea could be a wash if I can't even order/acquire one of the iFlash adapters anyway.

Just wanted to know what anyone else using the iFlash MK II was getting for battery life, if anyone can respond.

Thanks...
