I have an EML 5U4G with Raytheon 6WE7 on my WA6SE and was wondering if I should swap the 6WE7's for 6DE7's? I'm new to tubes so any advise will be much appreciated.

I find the 6EW7 to be a little thin and bright. Try a pair of Sylvania 6DE7 and see what you think. You for sure will get more bass.

Thanks for the reply Skylab. I'm glad you said you found them a little bright as I was thinking the same thing. Could you advise where to purchase Sylvania 6DE7's, as Google didn't really help?

I'd love to know that as well...all the resources online seem to offer 6DE7's, but none list brand nor seem to offer matched pairs.

You might try calling Antique Electronics Supply and ask them about brands. 6DE7's are very cheap, and you're unlikely to get anyone to match them for you for free. I bought the ones I have on EBay, but I have a tube tester...
