Help Me Build A Vinyl Rig

Thread Starter
I would like to build a decent vinyl rig. My turntable is a Sony PSLX-350H. I just bought a Grado Prestige Black cartridge for it. I have yet to install the cartridge because I want to get a tracking force gauge, and an MSFL GEO-DISC to do it properly. I plan on building the setup for headphone listening, as well as feeding it into my MacBook Pro to convert vinyl to digital. I have decided on these setups because I don't have a decent receiver, or speakers for a full blown home setup. So for now I would be content with a nice sounding headphone rig. My dillema is I am not sure where to go from where I am at. I know I need a pre-amp to go from the turntable to a headphone amp. My headphones are HD600's, which will probably be driven by my Lisa III. I have had my eyes on Ray's F117-Nighthawk, but would that be overkill for my source? Am I correct in thinking to make this rig a reality I would need to go from my turntable to a phone stage to a headphone amp, or MacBook Pro? Please advise. I would truly appreciate any sort of feedback from the community! Thank you in advance.

Best,

Eric.

A Creative Sound Blaster X-FI HD has everything you need to digitize your LP's; plus, it does so much more, making it an ideal interface between home audio and PC.
