http://www.amazon.com/NuForce-Icon-uDAC-2-Black-Headphone/dp/B003Y5FRNS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1299278983&sr=8-1

I was told this is a great DAC, and I will mainly be using this as a dac as I already have an amp. The Icon2 looks promising but its  a stereo amp would this work as a headphone amp? Any suggestions? I need to have the ..Spidif? plugs and a USB plug so I can use it with my TV and game console and a dac for my computer.

The Icon HP looks good as well but it has no Cable input on it only USB.

the udac2 is an excellent DAC but it cannot properly power the more power-hungry headphones, as I found with my orthos. my hd555s sound wonderful with it though, so they can power any iem and any portable headphone just fine. I do not have any real amp, so getting the udac was not such a good idea, seeing that the amp needed to power my orthos would have been around 200.

Zero amp/DAC with upgraded opamps will be as good or better than any of the new plastic fantastic amps out now, it goes for around $100~ish on the forums. I wouldn't spend more than that until you're ready to make a big leap into the op-amp-less DACs.

I already have an amp I'm really just looking for a DAC, The uDAC has no optical out which blows since I was planning to use it with my ps3 considering the ps3's dac is terrible.
