Searches on the Clip+ and line-out result in many websites discussing the line-out capabilities--- "no line-out", "yes line-out", "no true line-out", "line-out on Sundays only" yada, yada etc. etc...
So after reading so many, I decided to try it. I know among the many ++ of the Clip+, portability, size etc. is a very big feature. Great sound from a little black box the size of a quarter....lol.....But it won't hurt to have a couple of options as well.
I was doing some things around the house, so plugged it into the A5s. (8gb, Rockboxed, volume 0dB, No EQ, FLAC)...

Have a few albums on rotation on it- AVB (ASOT 2010), Rush (Moving Pictures), Jay-Z (Greatest Hits).....Great full sound all around with the different genres and very quiet...No hiss, static etc., even when I turn the volume on the A5s to max on pause. My volume on the A5s is at 11 o'clock. The exact position I use when I run them through my FUN, C-2 or WA2 being used as pre-amp (per Logan at Audioengine a while back).
