But maybe not quite what you think.
Had a FREE boots hearing test, which revealed a pretty big blockage in my left ear (never noticed, apart from the wife complaining I can't hear her). They recommended a Clear Ear Clinic which I went to.
Had both ears checked out (right ear was 'perfect'), but the left one had a large blockage pulled out (it was about the size of my little finger nail) using some microscope and small suction device.
Spoke to her afterwards, and she thinks I could of had it for years, and just got used to it, and was likely caused by pushing a bit of wax into my ear one day, blocking the normal wax escape route, which over the years plugged the ear up completely.
Moral to this story; get a hearing test before you splash out of kit :D Best £60 I've spent on audio ever.
