It's a bit unfair comparing pricing between a subsidized device and an unsubsidized one.
If you compare the price of an unsubsidized iPhone 4 and an original iPad 3G (pre iPad 2 price drop), you'd find that pricing for the latter was within 5% of the former. Hardly an unreasonable difference considering that the estimated bill of materials for the iPad 3G was over $100 more than it was for the iPhone 4.
Now only if game devs could figure out a way to put that graphical power to use in something better than rail shooters (RAGE) and QTE (Infinity Blade) games.
Not that I blame devs for doing that. It's a lot easier to have impressive graphics if you don't allow a user controlled camera.
I was thinking of the Xoom that requires you to have a month of subscription. $800 + a subscription, that is total BS.
^ There's a $600 wi-fi only model just announced:

I have an iphone 3GS, and I just can't get the hang of playing touch 1st/3rd person shooters, anything more complex than a 2D platformer or puzzle game, really. I just don't enjoy them.
That's why I'm not a fan of games on iOS that have virtual D-Pads. It's less of an issue on the iPad, but on the iPhone you lose half the screen where your thumbs are sat.
99% of the games on the app store are dumb anyway.
DON'T SPEAK BADLY OF FRUIT NINJA!!! :P
actually 99% of apps on my ipad are dumb.
