To use Burson discrete op amp or wait to build Bijou or both?

Hey all!

I have a DT990/600.  I bought a FiiO E9 to go with it.  I then took my Pioneer receiver (in sig) and ABXed the two. Could not tell the which was which in the test.  So I got a refund for the E9 and am using the receiver to amp the Beyer's.  I have then learned that the input of the Forte is not that great and maybe this screwed with my test.  Don't know, so this is question one.

Is the Forte's input section too sorry to reliably ABX amps?  Am I wasting my time with this?

Ok, number two.  I can get the Burson op amp here.  Is this worth getting seeing I'm only going to output the analog (front out) on the Forte to the Pioneer.  Will this op amp work with the Pioneer 'duh, I know it will work' but will the combo do something strange, I don't think the op amp going to the amp section of the receiver is 'double amping.'  Or am I wrong?

Two B.  Some time this summer I am going to build this.  Will the Burson op amp be a good input for this amp or should I just build this amp and stay with the op amp in the Forte already?  It will be a while before I can swing any pure sources so I'm stuck with the Forte for a while, but I'm having no problems with my Forte and it sounds great with either output, digital or analog.  I listen to the analog out the most, it does color the sound but the Beyers seem to do better with the LME 49720 op amp than with the PCM out.  That's why I'm wondering about the Burson op amp,  will it sound better than the LME 49720 or will it be a waste of time and money when I build the Bijou?

I realize that this may be very subjective, but still... any input will be appreciated.  Plus I will clarify if there are any questions to what I'm asking here, it might not be clear to all.

Thanks.

Pete

You won't miss anything special by skipping it.

It is overpriced to boot.  =\

Edit:  Patience.  =]

Thanks for the quick reply.  Diminishing returns, eh.

Not quite.  It is not even on par with top-tier integrated-circuit opamps like ADA4627-1B and OPA827 to begin with (and they cost a fraction of the price of Burson).

Well designed discrete circuits are generally better, but the Burson opamp is not an example of that.  =\

Oh.  I see, I read the hype.  I can pick up the OPA827SM a little bit over a hundred, or I think, all I need is this and two of these right?

OPA627SM for cheap, from China : 99.999999% fake.

The adapter by itself, preferably.

Then buy legitimate OPA627SM in the US, if that's what you mean.

Those links come with the opamps, and there's a very high chance they are fake like leeperry says.
