So which of those two budget solutions will be best to power up my Akg K601? I've had  for some time the Audiophile 192 which goes in to my Sony receiver with resistor HP jack.

I want it just for music not movies or games, also I would go for modding the Pro-Ject for better results.

The X-Fi Titanium HD doesnt have a headphone amp which the K601 would need, if you do get the X-Fi HD then you gonan wanna get a headphone amp and use the X-Fi HD as a DAC.

Ok, so the Creative goes and Xonar STX is the new versus. I've read on this forum that E-MU 1212M PCI is better than Xonar STX sound wise, what should I do? go for a cheap headphone amp or for PCI sound card with proper power  headphone output?
