I went to Bestbuy and they had only bose, beats and sony XB series. then i called a guy and say " your headphones sucks" he told me there were more brands in the musical section.

I found shure 440, senn 280, and some koss. but best thing was when i had my senn hd25 around my neck and a guy told me " too bad you already have those, we have one left at a nice price" ... 50$ like new. it has been in a showcase for some time i guess. not much since it looks, feel pristine. Of course i bought it.

best deal ever.

so I decided to recycle this thread.

My HD580s essentially cost me $70, but without a cable. In great condition too, and a cable is cheap enough.

AKG K240 Sextett LP in good condition for 11,- Euro.

Some AKG K340 for about 30-40€. But that was the price back then on ebay.de (2002-2003).

I remember a good deal on some ATH-W10vtg but really don't remember the price. Something like 120€ ?

A pair of Ultrasone HFI-650 for about 50€ on ebay.de.

A Thorens TD166 for 15€ at a thrift store might be the best deal though.

I don't know if this was my best deal but I got the Marantz DVD player DV4001 for around $60 shipped for a floor model on eBay and I use it as a transport for my CDs that feed into a DAC and it is very nice. Thick and good build quality plus good DVD picture.

Another great deal was a pair of rare Marantz bookshelf speakers I got and use for my bedroom. I got them at the Goodwill thrift store for just $7.98 in great condition. It's hard to say no to Marantz products at rock bottom prices!
