How musical are you? BBC online test

Fun test. I scored a 94 on musical perception.

Interestingly I scored low on enthusiasm for music.

Yeah seems a bit odd. I got 99% for musical perception but 17% for emotional response, when I answered in complete agreement to whether music had an emotion response to me. 78% for enthusiasm. 60% for social creativity. 98% for curiosity. 17/18 for on/off beat. 7/9 high for tap the beat, 1 medium, 1 low. Melody memory 6/12. I have a terrible memory in regards to everything in life lol.

Yeah... pretty fun.  98% on perception and 5% on curiosity!  I heard what happened to the cat that got too curious!

The beat matching part was tricky- I thought- because a lot of pop/r&b/rap music today has beats that are intentionally slightly off. So even though it's technically off-beat, it still sounds right. 

99% on musical perception as well. Head Fi is a place where only musical geniuses meet or the test is slightly off... 65% on curiosity, and 80 ish on emotional response. 67 on the social creativity and 90 ish on enthusiasm.

One of my melody memories was wrong, most of the tap rhythms were high, two medium, I got two match the beats wrong and my genre placing was all over the shop.

Apparently I should listen to various shows on 6music and Zane Lowe on Radio1 which I listen to most days anyway.

Yea, weird that everyone scored so well on perception.

Seems that I scored the lowest here with 94%.

Either that or people that scored low don't want to post it.

Thanks for posting the test, it was quite interesting I would have to say but it seemed a little lenient on my perception grade of 99%.

I got 87% enthusiasm, 99% musical perception (I honestly did awful on every single one of their teststest, idk how I got 99%), 76% emotional connection, 40% social creativity, 49% musical creativity.

What a boring test....

I got 16/16 on group the music.

I got 12/18 on match the beat.

I got 5/9 high, 3/9 medium, 1/9 low on tap to the beat.

I got 8/12 on match the melody.

For tapping to the beat I sort of tapped randomly at the beginning until I found the beat and I always tried to get one last tap in before time ran out so that might have brought some of the scores down.

53% enthusiasm for music - Eh. I'm very enthusiastic about music IMO...

94% for musical perception - Reasonable.  I used to play piano for ~5 years so I should definitely be above average, but I never enjoyed it and never felt like I was especially gifted at it.  I can't play by ear.

2% for emotional connection - Reasonable.  I have never perceived a connection between my music and my mood, besides being happy when listening to good music and annoyed when listening to bad music.

37% for social creativity - Eh.  I'm pretty open to singing around friends/acquaintances (unless it's a Taylor Swift song.  I save those for my private time...).  I don't sing around strangers but why would anyone unless they're paid to?  And off-beat clapping to performances is the worst.  Ugh.

29% for musical curiosity - Reasonable I suppose.  Most of what I listen to has been reviewed by Pitchfork at one point or another so my variety isn't the strongest.
