Swiss/Italian trip story (starring: Alitalia, the Porta Corda, Ety 4S, and AirBag) - Page 2

I work for American Airlines and we don't have that restriction. I just asked a co-worker about international flights and she said she had never heard of that, so it's not an FAA reg or anything, (to my limited knowledge) thank god. I wouldn't be able to stand flying w/out my D-EJ01.

And I can't wait to try out my new Ety 4S and Cosmic on the next flight. I might just go to Chicago and back sometime this week at lunch, just to see how well they work.

Dan, sounds like a fantastic trip you had!

Nick, you Hobbit, I hope you dont have furry feet!

BTW--there is to my knowledge no definitive proof that electronic equipment interfears with the cockpit's nav system. There appears to be evidence on both sides so the airlines take the cautious approach.

All airlines I've flown on restrict using portable CD players or devices that contain them (such as laptop computers) during takeoff and landing, specifically because they claim the devices interfere with flight control. Most airlines I've flown on allow use of the devices once the plane reaches cruising altitude.
That's what the case has been for me everytime I traveled internationally. I don't understand why they didn't let you listen to CD's at cruising altitude?

Glad you had a fun time! It's always great travelling abroad.
