ath m50 vs beats solo hd

 i just ordered me some ATH m50 (im new the the whole headphone thing)  i was considering buying beats but they seemed way overpriced to begin with so i looked around and found these.  i told my friend that has solo hds that supposedly mine sound better than the studio  his only response was that his look better and thats all that matters    can someone tell me in what ways the ATH m50s are better           thanks alot

I can tell you that you should just bring your M50 to his Beats and compare it there and then.

Take both your headphones and your friends and throw both against a wall.

 

OR, see which headband can flatten out the most.

Mine really opened up after the 50ish hour burn in period. The bass extended waaaay down and the treble became silky smooth. They age well. You're in for a treat, and your buddy is in for a disappointment.

Probably gonna compare them soon. He's more into rap and I like rock so he'll probably say his are better for rap.

Well, he said all that matters is his looks better... LOL

 

Definitely sound and durability are up there in ATH's favor. Oh, and you don't need batteries for a feature that doesn't even work (noise-canceling).

i went to best buy yesterday      the beats pros sound amazing but i couldnt try the studios or solo hds       after the ATH m50 burn in how closly do the sound to the beats pro as in better or worse

pros are worse than the m50s. The highs are more shrill, the bass is more flab. there is almost no instrument separation. They are less comfortable (mostly because they're so heavy). With the m50s everything is tight, detailed, and non-fatiguing.
