I received mine yesterday. I am using it with RXII and ipod classic. Sound is wonderful with my ES5 but I do have 2 questions:

1- It appears the ipod battery drains faster with Solo attached. Is this a byproduct of getting digital usb out of it?

2- When I charge the Solo it never goes to on/off green flashing to indicate full charge (overnight charge). The best I could notice is maybe a little flicker (The RXII clearly flashes on/off when fully charged).

When I charged mine, it did the same thing with the light.  Slight fliker.

Jian thanks for the impression comparing the Solo to the 801 and the C4.  So far, I have been playing with the Solo pairing several of my amps (Protector, Mustang, Pico Slim, and the SR71b), I have also been playing with the Boomslang and comparing to the Solo internal Dac.  I have also been comparing nano 6 to the Ipod Classic 6.  I don't feel like I can't draw too much conclusion yet but this much I can say is 1, the Nano 6 by itself sounds better than any other ipod classic that I have heard but if you pair the Solo with the Nano 6 and Ipod classic 6, the advantages disappeared.  The two ipods sound very very similar and that is good and that is what I expect.  2.  when I compare the Solo internal DAC through analog out to my Boomslang through the Coax out, and because they are not straight up comparison, they sound awfully close to each other in terms of sq.  There are some slight differences that I haven't been able to put my finger on but it will require more critical listening.  So far, the Solo matched my expectation and it is a worthwhile purchase.  It really bring desktop performance level to the portable setup.  I am very happy.  I will update my impression as they become available.

Sorry, I made a big typo! Please see the red  part of my post and I don't know what I was thinking when I wrote C4 instead of SOLO. eek.gif

+1, I asked Ken about this and he said

"The blinking is not really a blink rather it will go dim and then not dim and the blinking is at a very slow interval. Please charge it for 4 hours and then turn off the light and look at the switch for more than 10 seconds and see if you see the light "blink" or rather do dim and then light, dim, and light"

So there you gobiggrin.gif

Yeah sorry its a really lame weak blink.  It should be blinking after 3 hours of charging though and is pretty consistent.

I also did notice that both my ipod classic and touch 2G were drained faster when connected to the Solo. Normally I can get 20ish hours of playtime with the classic and touch connected to amp by LOD. Now when connected to the Solo, I;m getting at most 10-12 hours of play on freshly charged Ipod batteries. Guess that the authentication chip must be drawing power from the Ipod. Looks like I may need a mobile juice pack for long flights.

The Solo does not charge your iPhone/iPad etc.. nor does it draw current from the battery of your ipod.

Thanks

I wonder if anyone could do a comparison between iPad + Solo and iPad + CCK

Oh, and Ken, I can expect the Solo to work with iPad 2, right? Thanks~

My solo arrives today, it sounds fantastic, but unluckily one cable is missing(already contacted ken for that), so now I can only use it with the stock one, but still better than my previous imod. Just one question, I use my 6 gen ipod classic with it, when I return to the Album menu from the songs menu(which is under a particular album) , there is a slight delay, or pause of the music, is that normal?
