And thats just from a 30 second google.

Although, now that I think about it, customs will probably bring that price up.

/me shrugs

I guess my point is that they are on the border and I'd be surprised if you couldn't find them for well under $1000.

Audiocubes is grossly overpriced and they are only 1150 there.

Yeah customs + shipping would push these well over 1000.00. I have search many times for them and could find them under 1000.00. They are offered on ebay from time to time, and even then they are around 1200.00. I will keep my eye open for the sonys.

While not woodies, I would consider the Kenwood KH-K1000.  I just got a pair two weeks ago and have been very happy with them.  Here is the head-fi thread about them.  http://www.head-fi.org/forum/thread/344543/kenwood-kh-k1000

I have not listened to the Denons at all  so I can not compare them for you.  I moved up from M50s and I am very happy with the results.

I have the Victor DX1000, i also have the Audio Technica W1000 (older version of the W1000x) and W5000.

Compared to those three woodies, the D7000 is the best headphone for handling varieties of different music.

The Victor is a great headphone and it's a big headphone when one has it on,so,  probably more for comfort reasons, I like the D7000. The Victor had more of a low end if I remember, but the Denon still does it better (punchier, faster).

I have yet to hear the D1000x, but plan on hearing it when I can find it for an affordable price.

On a side note, I may sell my Victor, but only if the price is right.

I may also let the W1000 and the W5000 go into the marketplace, however, one of them, and I can't remember which one, gives small shocks to the ears. Anyone have a phone number to call for audio Technica's headphone repair?

Oh how I wish I could find some. I would love to have a closed ortho.

Voting D7000 though they are among the worst isolating closed cans tbh.  The Z1000 left little impression w/ me and honestly think they are more appropriate for the 3-$400 range myself.
