sony mz r-700 minidisc recorder problem

I have it connected to the xitel mdport dg2, which is connected to my laptop but I have no idea how to transfer the files on the recorder to the laptop. how do I get those files on my laptop? thanks.

Sony models that old don't allow transfer to computer. Only real time recording through your laptop line-in and with some recording software. Only more recent Hi-MD allowed for uploads of any kind.
