Gotta say, since I vented some frustration over mine, I did have them replaced and it did remind me how much I love these.  They fit me so well and their isolation is great.  I'm not quite the audiophile of most here (just know what I like) and I like this a lot.  Hopefully no more problems for me.

How so? just overall SQ?

I can't quite describe it. It just overall sounds more clear and smooth.

I joined this forum just to mention that I've also had the issue with my SE215s cutting out. My left earphone basically stopped working at most angles after a month, so I got it replaced. Now, 2 months later, the right side is having the same problems, and the left side (which was replaced) is crackling at certain angles. I tried nudging the cable pin on the right side, and it helps temporarily, but eventually it cuts out again. This is so irritating, and I'm not even in the US for a couple months, so I can't send them in for replacement easily.

Another unhappy Shure 215 owner. What's wrong with the SE215?? Is it some kind of manufacturing error?

As long as i get 4 months out of it it's money well spent.

I don't expect iems to last longer.

 IEMs are supposed to last for years (especially when it goes above $50).

It was only $99 it's no biggy if it breaks in 4 months. Plus i will just get it replaced under warranty.

Just had my original set 215s replaced by Shure UK which had suffered the well known earpiece cutting out failure, received a brand new pair back in around 10 days. Has anyone enquired about warranty time on the replacement pair-is it still the original date of purchase? 

I believe people who are receiving the "early" batch of IEM's are getting ones that are possibly defective still. Places that don't sell them out quickly may still have the first batch that came out. I know that where I bought mine, the first batch was easily sold out and I got mine 2 months after the initial release so I think I may have a revised version. With that in mind, I haven't had much issues. The right angle plug occasionally drops out the left channel about once in every 10 hours. I plan on re-terminating it anyways to a straight jack for convenience since I have it placed in a way that would prefer straight over right angle.

Mine is on it's 3rd month with no issues and i practically torture mine.

same here..4th month tho..

I can't find the Fischer Audio Eternas for sale anywhere, so I'm considering the SE215. Are they a good alternative or should I look for something else? My budget is <$150 and I listen to a lot of mashup, dance, and some classical.
