Monitor Audio BX1 vs PSB Alpha B1

I'm still a little new to this, but let's say I could get MA BX1 speakers for the same price as the PSB Alphas (~$280).

I'm mostly interested in listening to rock/folk, but also occasional jazz/classical. I know I should listen to them and compare, however I wanted to get some other opinions from some other experienced listeners. Any thoughts would be much appreciated!

there's not better way around it other than audition. I auditioned the BX1, and to me they sucked. but it's quite possible that you might like them - lots of people seem to do. it could also depend from what you've been listening to - if you're used to headphones there's a good chance that you won't be impressed (imo).

 

I was browsing Audiogon and came across this - they're new, and the reserve is set at $199 - depending on how the bidding goes they could be in your budget. here's a Stereophile review

 

I personally would bid on those rather than the other two
