I don't know if this was talked about before but after a quick search I could not find any real info on it.

The website mentions that it is 65,000 yen which is around 750USD, pretty crazy.

Interesting. Does it bypass the iPod's DAC?

It says it has a 32bit DAC in it so I looked that up too: http://www.asahi-kasei.co.jp/akm/en/product/ak4480/ak4480.html

I think when they say "Digital Filter" it probably means Jitter correction but I am unsure of this.

 

The more I read on this the more I want it though.

there's definitely another thread about this somewhere, but yeah, that price is outrageous.

I have just got this not long ago from the Fostex distributor in Singapore (I am a Malaysian). And I must say, this bad boys are good! but i have one question though. Does the line out on this FULLY bypass the internal amp? (plan on having a shoot off between CLAS and the HP-P1). And what is Jitter correction?

I have just received my amp today however when I plug my 80 GB classic iPod in all I get is the message it's ok to disconnect?

I cannot operate the iPod unless I disconnect it from the amp! Help. any suggestions ?

I have emailed Fostex direct, I have not tried another iPod yet?

From fostex manual, you can use hp-p1 as dac with:

 

Touch 2, 3, 4 G

iPod classic (so 6G and newer)

iPod nano 4, 5, 6 G

iPhone 3G, 3GS, 4

 

And there have been successful reports in the Fostex main report about iPads too.

I am having popping noise from my HP-P1 (both line out and headphone outs), anyone else experiencing the same problem? What should i do?

Yea, hard resetted it once and it didnt work. the problem was fixed after i did it several times. Happened after i updated to iOS 5.01
