What company does the cheapest reshell? Fisher shipping prices are $60 which kinda kills it and Kozee has just raised their prices to $119,95 + 35 shipping. And do you know if the customer service of fidelity and livewires are any good at their current state?

Wow, those prices are steep... I recommend a Chinese custom IEM company in that case.

My SA-43 are put in my garage now by UPS, so i need to get my wife to bring em inside as soon as she comes home...

Starkey recieved my impressions on the 7th and delivered today, so it only took them 19 days..

Sadly im not home before wednesday, so i have to wait some more days to listen through them..

Hey Hem, how much duty did you have to pay for the SA43s?

As of now its delivered at home, the notices from UPS said it was in need of a clearance yesterday, but got cleared the same day and sent on its way.

The papers are at home so how big the tax is gonna be or how i need to pay it later i have no idear about..

If i need to pay tax its gonna be around 25%, thereby its not the best value say compared to Spiralear SE5, as u need to pay both the tax in norway and danish tax on top..

Starkey has a problem with being out of the EU, but no "big" issue as imports from America and Asia are on the same terms, but it is always more expensive in the nordic contries to produce something like this, but the value is a floating thing when we go for costums like these anyway..

My price with fixed black cable and beige colour was:

66€ - Impressions + low amount (5€) for sending them to Norway.

5900nok ~ 786€ - Starkey SA-43 incl shipping.

,

If i run it through a tax calculator for getting the correct price here in Denmark, the total will be around 1000€.

But i wont be clapping my hands before i get home to see if some tax is coming later on, as my wife only read the papers from the mailbox, to find out where in my garage they put my precious cargo..

Oh I see. I will be ordering from Canada and I think there will be a 33% duty charge. When I ordered the HF5s from the States, the UPS man asked for the money when he delivered it and refused to hand over the item otherwise. Guess it is to be expected... nothing much one can do.

Well one cant compare prices so easy, because of the tax issue when importing things, we are sometimes lucky to get our goods in the country without paying tax, but the postal service here know this and do a lot of random checks

But its no different between the US and Canada as u write, but your HF5 is much cheaper then here, as i payed 212 us for my HF3 in the UK.

Can one deduct the us tax, or is the tax put on the full us retail price in Canada?

I thought the clearance notice i got from UPS, was to go to the UPS office to pay the tax, but i need to get home from the UK, so i can find out if there is some bill on paper waiting for me..

Hello. In Danish to a Dane from a Dane in Norway ...

Mvh LarsHP

Short English translation: It can't be true, that he has to pay VAT both in Denmark and Norway. It must be either here or there.

But i think im in the clear here, as UPS did follow it through, and i didnt get any mail about extra payment either, but usually the local postal company do the tax an so on by the danish rules, but as i've hear about problems both sending to Norway and other tax issues from EU to US/vice versa and so on, i was scared about it it happening to me also, but i dont know of all these stupid rules..

But anyway, wednesday is the big day, hope they look nice in beige and are comfortable to wear, and sq excellent..

Lars is right and that is also true - you will only pay tax/VAT in Denmark - which is the estimated 12% and 25% according to danish tax office. The price, NOK 5900,- is tax free to foreign customers  - so you are not paying VAT to Norway. (In Norway the SA-43 costs NOK 6750,-, including VAT)

I guess you will get an invoice for the danish tax/VAT in your mail soon.. unless you're lucky ;)

Cheers,

Alf

Starkey

Thank you all for that interesting info about international taxes, I am still trying to get it straight as to what VAT is paid when from which country to which other country, but paying twice did seem wrong.

And I am looking forward to your thoughts Hemshemems!

@ Majin: I am slowly working on a list of reshellers, but the lowest cost is probably Fisher Hearing in FL as unfortunately Kozee has had some CS issues and I can't currently  recommend them.

Well im not lucky usually, but the rules are very unclear and its good to get some information about this through to ppl, so one know what the exact price is gonna be in total...

Our Postal service didnt get my package so they dont get there money for my transaction, but UPS cleared my package but how much they take for this, and when i get a tax notice and a bill i cant say, but status is now i still dunno whats gonna be the correct price all incl.

So in my case Starkey did the right thing here, i just got a bit disoriented i guess so bare with me.. :)

Its a bit more "simple" when importing from the the US, Canada, China, 2-12% custom charge, and 25%VAT, there is tax on the shipment too, globalisation and open markets my butt..

But its nice we have some good costums here in Europe that can compete, instead of all only focusing on JH, UE ect. But its not usually worth the effort with these import issues and the price will never be the same for us here..

Im home tomorrow at noon, but i need some days to get used to them, so ill get back later..
